Apurva Mehta has two decades of experience in global trade and investment development, marketing communications and public affairs.
Apurva serves in an honorary capacity as a National Board Member of the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber. Since Fall 2011, he has worked on the revival of the ICBC Mumbai chapter, by partnering closely with the Canadian Consulate General, and subsequently being part of the new leadership of the Chamber, in defining and implementing a new business strategy for the Chamber.
Since May 2013 Apurva is employed with Accenture, the world’s largest IT consulting firm, as the corporate communications director for APAC. Prior to that, since October 2009, he was with TCS, the largest Indian IT company, as the global head for foreign government relations. During 2007 – 2009, he was with Mahindra Satyam, another major IT company, where he led a Public Affairs role. During 1993-2007, Apurva was the senior trade and investment officer at the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai.
Apurva has extensive experience in building relations with leading global industry institutions such as the World Economic Forum. He has served on industry and bilateral forums, such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). Apurva has spoken at pre-eminent business forums in India and in Canada, in the areas of ICT, infrastructure and transportation, and agri-food.
Apurva obtained a Master’s degree in Economics at the Clemson University in the US during 1991-1992, supported through a fully-funded University research grant.
