Dhaval N. Shah
Dhaval, in his CTO role at KoolKampus, a SaaS company in the e-learning software space contributes in software engineering and architecture efforts. He has also been serving as Advisor/Investor in several high-tech companies such as Tech-Rx, Microventures, Jawbone, Nutanix, Palantir, Flurry (acquired by Yahoo), Real Estate and is a Mentor at the Thiel Fellowship. Earlier, Dhaval was Co-founder & CTO at MooWee Inc., innovating in the Internet Video to TV space. On acquisition of MooWee by Xoriant Corporation, Dhaval was Vice-President, Business Development specializing in multi-screen/multi-media applications that connect consumer devices to content sources on the Internet. Previously in his ten years at Cisco, he specialized in areas of voice, video, wireless, cable and Internet routing protocols and applications.
Dhaval has been awarded over 15 patents and co-authored Internet Engineering Task Force Standard RFC 5140 (TGREP). He has a B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT (BHU), Varanasi, a MS in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Software Systems Graduate Certificate from Stanford University and an MBA from UC Berkeley. He was honored as the “Outstanding Student of the Institute,” awarded annually to one student, for his academic performance and excellence in extra-curricular activities at his undergraduate Institute, IIT (BHU),Varanasi. As time permits, Dhaval likes to sing & play the keyboard with a group of friends passionate about music, and also play table-tennis that he had pursued competitively at the National level in India before he went to the United States.
